The Experience
Take to the skies and fly the Yorkshire Yankee. Based at Breighton Airfield is this 1945 Boeing Stearman American biplane. Beautifully restored and painted in early WW11 US Army Corps trainer colours.

Our Stearman adventure will take your breath away. The Yorkshire Yankee is rugged, surprisingly large and has enough power to make flying an adventure and a joy. There is nothing quite like flying a biplane low over the beautiful and scenic landscape of Yorkshire or touching down gracefully on a grass strip after such a flight. ​

We operate from Breighton Aerodrome, an ideal location for the Boeing Stearman flight experience. Rich in aviation heritage, Breighton evolved from a WW 11 RAF bomber base into a thriving centre for aviation aircraft. The airfield is easily accessible and family friendly, featuring an onsite café offering a selection of meals, light bites, cakes, snacks and both hot and cold beverages.
